Cleaner Goal Privacy Policy

Introduction and Overview

Welcome to Cleaner Goal. This Privacy Policy explains how Cleaner Goal (referred to as "we""us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use the Cleaner Goal mobile application ("the App").

We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using Cleaner Goal, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

No Account Required: Cleaner Goal is a local file management and cleaning tool. You can use all features without creating an account or providing personal login information. The App operates primarily on your device, and no registration or direct personal identification (such as your name or email address) is needed to use our services. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect information that directly identifies you (such as your name, address, phone number, or email). However, to provide and improve our services, Cleaner Goal may collect certain device and usage information. The types of information we collect include:

*Device and Technical Information:

We collect data about your device and app usage, such as your device model, manufacturer, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g. device ID or advertising ID), app version, and system language. This information does not directly identify you, but it helps us ensure the app functions correctly on different devices.

*Approximate Location: The App may collect or derive your coarse geographic location (e.g. city or region). This is based on device settings or network information (such as IP address) and is not precise. We do not collect your exact GPS coordinates. Approximate location data helps us understand where our user base is generally located (for example, to analyze regional app usage or support different languages), and is not used to personally identify any user.

*Usage Data and Analytics: When you use Cleaner Goal, we collect information about how you interact with the App. This includes features you use, the actions you take (e.g. which files are cleaned or which tools are used), crash logs, performance metrics, and the time and frequency of your usage. This data is collected in aggregate form and via third-party analytics services to help us understand app performance and user behavior. For example, we use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that automatically collect limited data about your device and App usage. This may include technical device details, usage frequency, error reports, and other anonymous usage statistics.

*No Personal Files or Sensitive Data: Cleaner Goal operates locally on your device. We do not scan, collect, or upload the content of your personal files, photos, contacts, messages, or any sensitive personal data from your device. Any file browsing, cleaning, or deletion actions you perform are executed on your device itself. Your files and personal content remain on your device and are not transmitted to us.

*Source of Information: The information above is collected directly from your device through the App’s functionality or via integrated third-party analytics services. We do not purchase personal data from data brokers or collect information from outside sources about you.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

*Provide and Maintain the App’s Functionality: We use device and technical information to ensure Cleaner Goal works correctly on your device. For example, knowing your device model and OS version helps us optimize file management and cleaning features for your device type. Usage data (such as logs and crash reports) allows us to maintain the app’s stability and fix technical issues quickly.

*Improve and Personalize User Experience: Information about how you use Cleaner Goal helps us understand which features are most useful and how the App performs. We analyze aggregate usage patterns and trends to improve existing features, develop new features, and enhance the user experience. For instance, if we observe that certain cleaning tools are rarely used or causing errors, we can focus on improving them.

*Analytics and Performance Monitoring: As noted, we use third-party analytics services (e.g. Google Analytics) to collect and analyze usage data. These analytics help us measure user engagement, diagnose technical problems, and optimize the App’s design and functionality. The data shared with our analytics providers is limited to the information described in Information We Collect (for example, device type, OS, general location, and usage events) and is used only for our internal analysis and product improvement.

*Customer Support and Communication: If you contact us for support or to provide feedback, we may use the information you provide (such as your email if you reach out, or diagnostic data) to assist you and resolve issues. Note that since the App does not require registration, we generally do not have your contact information unless you choose to contact us directly. We will use any contact details only to respond to your inquiries or requests.

*Legal Compliance and Security: We may use or disclose information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests. Additionally, we will use and share data as needed to enforce our terms of service, detect or prevent fraud and security issues, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users, us, or others.

*Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR): If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your personal data (as described above) will depend on the context. In general, we process device and usage data as necessary for our legitimate interests to operate, maintain, and improve the App (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). In cases where we might request optional data or permissions (for example, accessing approximate location on your device), we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) which you can withdraw at any time. We may also process data as necessary to perform a contract with you - for example, to deliver the App’s functionality you request (Article 6(1)(b)) - or to comply with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). We ensure that we consider and balance any potential impact on your rights before relying on our legitimate interests for processing.

How We Share Your Information

We understand the importance of your personal information and do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We only share your information in the following circumstances:

*Service Providers and Partners: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf and under our instructions. The primary example is analytics providers like Google Analytics (or similar) which process usage data and device information for the purposes described in this Policy. These service providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for our specified purposes (for example, to provide us aggregated analytics). They are not permitted to use your data for their own unrelated purposes.

*Compliance with Law: We may disclose information to third parties if required to do so by law or legal process. For instance, if we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or lawful request from authorities, we may be obligated to share the requested data. We will also share information if necessary to investigate or remedy potential violations of law or our policies, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Cleaner Goal, our users, or others (for example, exchanging information with law enforcement or to prevent fraud or security issues).

*Business Transfers: If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of some or all of our assets, your information (as part of our user data) may be transferred to the new owner/partner as part of that transaction. In such cases, we will ensure the successor entity is bound by terms that protect your personal information consistent with this Privacy Policy. We will notify you (for example, via an update or notice within the App) of any such change in ownership or control of your personal data.

*With Your Consent: Apart from the situations above, we will only share your information with third parties when we have your explicit consent to do so. For example, if in the future we introduce a feature that involves sharing data with a new type of service or publishing user-submitted content, we would only do so with your knowledge and consent.

*No Sale of Personal Information: We do not sell personal information to third parties for monetary value or for behavioral advertising purposes. In the context of the CCPA, ‘’selling’’personal information broadly includes sharing it with third parties for valuable consideration. Cleaner Goal only shares personal data with service providers for legitimate business purposes (like analytics), which is considered a ‘’business purpose’’under CCPA, not a sale. If our practices change in the future and we ever plan to sell personal data, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide a ‘’Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information’’option as required by law. As of the effective date of this Policy, there is no need to opt-out of the sale of personal information because we do not engage in such activity.

Your Privacy Rights

We respect your privacy rights and provide you with ways to exercise control over your personal information. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific rights under privacy laws like the CCPA (for California residents) or the GDPR (for users in the European Union/EEA and certain other jurisdictions). This section describes those rights and how you can exercise them.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

*Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we have collected, used, and disclosed about you over the past 12 months. You may request to receive a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, as well as information about our data practices (such as the categories of information collected, the sources, and the purposes for which we use it).

*Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm a verifiable deletion request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies (for example, if the information is necessary to complete a transaction you requested, detect security incidents, comply with a legal obligation, etc.).

*Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to direct us not to sell your personal information to third parties. As noted above, Cleaner Goal does not sell personal data. Likewise, we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will provide a clear method for you to opt out. You also have the right to opt out of any future "sharing" of your personal information (as defined by California law) if we engage in that practice. Currently, any data sharing we do is strictly for permissible business purposes (analytics) and not for advertising or profit.

*Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means if you choose to exercise your privacy rights (such as requesting deletion or opting out of sale), we will not deny you our services, charge you different prices, or provide a lesser quality of service as a result. Cleaner Goal provides the same features and quality of service to all users, regardless of any privacy choices you make.

*How to Exercise California Rights: To exercise any of your California privacy rights, you or an authorized agent may contact us using the contact information in the Contact Us section of this Policy. Please include "CCPA Request" in your message and specify which right you seek to exercise. We will need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming information we may already have, like device details) before processing your request, to ensure we are protecting your data from unauthorized access. We aim to respond to verifiable requests within 45 days, as required by law. If more time is needed (up to an additional 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension in writing.

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or a region with similar data protection laws (such as the United Kingdom or Switzerland), you are entitled to certain rights under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) or applicable local law. These data subject rights include:

*Right of Access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data, and if so, to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We will provide you with a copy of your data along with information about how it’s used, subject to any legal limitations. This is similar to the "right to know" described for California, but applies to all your personal data and is available to EU/EEA users.

*Right to Rectification: If you believe that any personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct or update it. Given that Cleaner Goal collects very limited personal data (and not data like your name or contact information), this right would typically apply if, for example, you believe the device or usage information we have is incorrect. We will rectify any inaccuracies in your personal data without undue delay upon your request.

*Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data under certain conditions. You can ask us to erase the personal information we hold about you, for example if it is no longer necessary for us to have it, or if you withdraw consent (where applicable) and we have no other legal basis to keep the data. We will honor valid erasure requests unless retention is required by law or other exemptions apply (similar to the exceptions under CCPA’s deletion right).

*Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. For instance, if you contest the accuracy of your data or object to our processing, you can request a restriction while we address your concern. This means we will store your data but not actively process it until the issue is resolved (except to the extent allowed by you or required by law).

*Right to Data Portability: You have the right to obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to have that data transmitted to another controller where technically feasible. This right applies when our processing is based on your consent or on a contract with you, and the processing is carried out by automated means. (In practice, since we do not collect traditional personal identifiers, data portability might apply primarily to any account or usage data if it were associated with you; currently, Cleaner Goal does not maintain user accounts, but we will assist you with extracting any personal data that is linkable to you.)

*Right to Object: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, when we process your data based on legitimate interests. If you object, we will cease processing your data unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or where needed for legal claims. You also have the right to object to processing of your data for direct marketing purposes. (Note: Cleaner Goal does not use your data for direct marketing, and we do not send marketing communications, but this right is included for completeness.)

*Right to Withdraw Consent: In cases where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal. For example, if you granted the App permission to access approximate location and you no longer want to share location data, you can revoke that permission in your device settings or contact us to do so. Once we are aware of a withdrawn consent, we will stop the related processing.

*Right to Lodge a Complaint: If you believe that our processing of your personal data infringes your rights or violates privacy laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. If you are in the EEA, you can contact the supervisory authority in the country of your residence, place of work, or where the alleged infringement occurred. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly before you do so - so please feel free to contact us with any issues, and we will do our best to resolve them.

*How to Exercise GDPR Rights: You can exercise your rights by contacting us (see Contact Us section). Please clearly state what right you wish to exercise. We may request certain information to verify your identity before fulfilling your request (this is to protect your privacy and ensure we do not disclose or delete data at the request of someone else). We will respond to your request within one month, or inform you if we need additional time or if any exemption applies that would prevent us from fulfilling your request in whole or in part.

Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These measures include, for example, using encryption and secure protocols where appropriate, limiting access to personal data to authorized personnel and service providers, and regularly reviewing our security practices to guard against vulnerabilities. Specifically, any data transmitted from the App (such as analytics data) is sent securely (e.g., using HTTPS encryption in transit). Our third-party analytics providers also employ security measures to safeguard data on their systems. Please note, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take care with how you handle and disclose your own personal information. We encourage you to use strong passwords, update your device’s software regularly, and be mindful of sharing device access, as these steps help protect your information in general.

Data Storage and Retention

All data collected by Cleaner Goal is stored only for as long as it is needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law. We do not keep personal data longer than necessary.

*Local Data: The App primarily operates using data stored on your own device (for instance, your files and cleaning history reside on your device). We do not routinely transfer or store your personal content on our servers.

*Analytics Data: Information collected through our third-party analytics services is stored on those providers’servers (e.g., Google’s servers for Google Analytics). Such analytics data is generally retained for a period that allows us to analyze usage trends over time. We may configure our analytics tools to automatically delete old data after a set time (for example, after 14 months) or as updated policies require. We only retain aggregated or de-identified analytics information beyond that period for statistical purposes and to improve the App, without identifying any individual user.

*Device and Technical Logs: If the App collects device logs or crash reports, those may be stored either on your device or on our servers (or a service like Firebase Crashlytics if used) for troubleshooting. Crash and error logs, if transmitted to us, are typically retained only for the time necessary to analyze and fix the underlying issue, after which they may be deleted or anonymized.

*Legal Compliance and Protection: In certain cases, we may need to retain information for longer periods if it is necessary for legal compliance or legitimate business interests. For example, if we are obligated by law to retain certain data (such as records of requests you’ve made under your privacy rights, or records required for financial, tax, or audit purposes), we will retain that information for the period mandated by law. Also, if needed for resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements, we will keep the relevant data until the issue is resolved.

After the applicable retention period or upon your valid request for deletion, we will securely delete or anonymize your personal information. When we anonymize data, we remove any details that could identify you, so that the information can no longer be linked back to you.

Children’s Privacy

Cleaner Goal is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13. Our services are designed for general audiences and intended to be used by adults or with adult supervision. If you are under 13, please do not use this App or provide any information about yourself to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible. Parents or guardians who believe that we might have unintentionally received information from a child under 13 should contact us immediately (see Contact Us below), and we will promptly investigate and address the issue.

For residents in the European Union or other regions with stricter age requirements, we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent. If you are under 16 and in a jurisdiction where parental consent is required for us to process your personal data, please do not use Cleaner Goal unless your parent or legal guardian has provided consent.

International Data Transfers

Cleaner Goal is operated from and provided to users around the world. The information we collect through or in connection with the App may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. In particular, if our company or servers are located in a country different from yours, or if our third-party service providers (such as analytics providers) are in multiple countries (for example, the United States and other locations), your information may be transferred to a foreign jurisdiction. These countries may have data protection laws that are different or less comprehensive than the laws of your own country. However, we take steps to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, regardless of where it is processed.

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, and your data is transferred outside of those regions, we will implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information. This may include using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or ensuring the recipient is certified under an approved data protection framework, or other lawful mechanisms to legitimize the transfer of data across borders. By using Cleaner Goal, or by providing information to us, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States. We will always protect your data as described in this policy. If you have questions about international data transfers or require more information about the safeguards we have in place, you can contact us using the details provided in the next section.
